The Bellevue Public School District held a special meeting with the Bond Oversight Committee to share the bids for the chillers, wireless technology, buses, and white fleet.

Ralph Gladbach, from GP Architecture presented bids that he received from Trane, Carrier and Daikin for chillers. These bids would lock in the cost for all the buildings, but at this time the district would only be purchasing equipment for Bertha Barber, LeMay and Twin Ridge. The bids received are for the equipment only. The RFP is now open for bid to complete the installation of equipment. Mr. Gladbach will meet with the district administrators to discuss the warranty package for the chillers. A recommendation will be made to the Board during the meeting on March 6th to accept the bid from either Carrier or Trane, along with the warranty and maintenance program to purchase.

Greg Boettger, Director of Facilities and Technology presented to the Oversight Committee three bids that were received for wireless technology in all elementary buildings throughout the district. The bid of $903,171 includes the cost of the equipment and installation. Mr. Boettger after researching the three different products gave the rationale how it was determined that Aruba Controller would best fit the districts needs. The district is currently using the same system, it would be upgraded. Mr. Boettger will make this recommendation to the Board on March 6th.

Rich Casey, Director of Transportation presented bids received for buses and white fleet vehicles. The bids received for buses where from Blue Bird, International and Thomas. Mr. Casey gave the rationale for recommending to the Board to purchase the International buses for a final cost of $965,630. Also, bids were shared for white fleet vehicles and it will be recommended to purchase these vehicles from McMullen Ford for a cost of $211,603.

Mr. Gladbach shared a proposed copy of the Bond Oversight website that is being created for transparency to the public. On the website the public will have access to each building project list and project summary, costs, Bond Oversight Committee Minutes, etc. The web designer is projecting to have the website available to the public in the next few weeks.

Dr. Rippe thanked the Bond Oversight Committee for attending the meeting and shared the next meeting will be on Tuesday, March 14th. The Committee will be meeting with the Board of Education to clarify their roles and responsibilities. It was also determined there will be another Committee meeting on Thursday, March 30th to prepare for the Board of Education meeting on April 3rd. All of these meeting will be held at the Welcome Center. The meeting adjourned at 6:10 p.m.
