The meeting began at 6:00 p.m. at the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Building.

Transportation – Rich Casey, Director of Transportation shared at the October 7th Board meeting the
approval was given to solicit bids for two Bluebird large propane buses, two service trucks, three transit
vans, and one box truck. Tonight Mr. Casey shared the bid received from Bluebird for two 72 passenger
propane buses in the amount of $190,408. Also, there were five bids received for the white fleet vehicles
totaling $218, 347. All the bids were lower than anticipated. Mr. Casey will ask the Board to accept the
bids at the December 9th Board meeting.

CTE Building – Greg Boettger, Director of Facilities and Technology shared with the Committee there
was asbestos found under a large portion of the floor tile at the CTE building. Before any construction can
begin on the remodel of the building the asbestos must be removed. Mr. Boettger received two bids for
the asbestos abatement, with the lowest bid from New Horizons in the amount of $30,500. The Board
will be asked to accept the bid at the December 9th Board meeting.

Bellevue East Auditorium Roof – The small roof overhang at the entrance of the Bellevue East
Auditorium is in need of being replaced due to water issues. Mr. Boettger received a bid from Mejia
Roofing in the amount of $13,500 for the replacement of the roof area. The Board will be asked to accept
the bid at the December 9th Board meeting.

Safety and Security – Mr. Boettger received multiple bids from Prime Communications totaling
$26,139.95 for minor additions of video surveillance, access control and Kids’ Time intercoms that were
missed when originally installed at the Food Service, Birchcrest, Bellevue, Bertha Barber, LeMay,
Leonard Lawrence, Twin Ridge, and Two Springs. The Board will be asked to accept the bids at the
December 9th Board meeting.

CTE Building and Storage Unit – Dr. Robert Moore, Assistant Superintendent gave an update on the
progress of the automotive program that will begin for the 2020 school year. A tentative floor plan was
shared with the Committee of the automotive shop area and classroom space. Also, the district is working
with partners to secure funding for equipment and support of the program.

2020 Projects – Mr. Gladbach continues to work on plans for Two Springs, Leonard Lawrence, Wake
Robin and Logan Fontenelle for the building projects during the summer of 2020.
Betz and Peter Sarpy – Optimized Systems continue to periodically monitor the building systems to
verify operational functions.

Pay Requests – The following pay requests will be submitted to the Board for approval at the December
9th Board of Education meeting.
East High HVAC (Lueder)                           $415,802.82

Bellevue East HVAC – Mr. Gladbach has met with Lueder Construction, along with the other
contractors to identify a few minor items to be completed. Remedial work on equipment and control
issues are slow to be resolved, so Mr. Gladbach has given contractors until January 7, 2020 to complete
the work.

Bellevue East Main Gym Roof –The flashing work for the perimeter has been completed. Mr. Gladbach
is now waiting to receive the final warranty information from Bradco Company prior to the final project
closeout.

Bellevue East Main Roof – The contractor continues to wait for the arrival of the smoke vents, which
should arrive late November. Once installed the inspector will issue the warranty for the roof area over
the auditorium. The work is anticipated to be completed in early December.

Birchcrest and Central Projects – Miscellaneous items remain to be completed on both buildings.
Some of the work is required to be done when students are not in the building. These items will be
completed over the holiday break in December. Also, the elevator at Birchcrest is anticipated to be
completed by the end of November. Once completed the elevator inspection can be done.

Central and Bellaire Roof Projects – 10 Men Roofing has completed the roof work on both buildings
and is waiting for the final warranty inspection from the roofing manufacture.

Birchcrest and Logan Fontenelle Roof Project – Mejia Roofing Company has completed the roof work
on both buildings and has issued the final warranty. This project has been closed out.

Lied Activity Center Pool – The replacement of the pool deck has been completed. Painting within the
pool and pool surface work will begin the week of November 25th. The locker room renovation
continues, and is anticipated to be completed the same time as the pool work.

Fairview and Two Springs Chiller – At the November 4th Board meeting it was approved for GP
Architecture to purchase a new chiller for Fairview and Two Springs. Tonight Mr. Gladbach shared the
district received four bids for the installation of the two chillers. Demolition work will begin prior to the
arrival of the chillers by February. The anticipated completion date is April 1st. The Board will be asked
at the December 4th Board meeting to accept the bid from Mechanical Systems in the amount of $295,000
for the installation of both chillers.

Bellevue West Partial Roof Project – At the November 4th Board meeting it was approved for GP
Architecture to prepare the RFP and solicit bids for the partial roof replacement at Bellevue West. Work
on the roof will begin prior to the end of the school year. Mr. Gladbach will work with the Bellevue West
administration for scheduling, since this will impact a few classrooms that will need to be relocated. Mr.
Gladbach shared there was a pre-bid walkthrough on November 18th, with 9 bidders showing interest in
the project. On November 25th there will be a bid opening for the partial roof replacement project. Mr.
Gladbach will then send information to the Committee prior to the December Board meeting.

Bellevue East Water Heater – Mr. Gladbach explained to the Committee the boilers that supply the hot
water at Bellevue East are having issues. The district would like to replace the system with three
commercial water heaters. Mr. Gladbach received two bids for this project. The the bid from Ray Martin
Company in the amount of $182,777 will be presented for approval at the December 9th Board meeting.

OPPD Rebates – Mr. Boettger shared the district did receive an OPPD rebate for a portion of the
Bellevue East VRF projects in the amount of $22,600. Mr. Gladbach is in the process of submitting
applications for the 2019 OPPD rebates.

Website Review – Mr. Gladbach will follow up on The BPS Bond website to make sure the web designer
has current reporting.

The Committee adjourned the meeting at 7:10 p.m. The next meeting will be December 19th at the Lied
Activity Center. After the meeting Greg Boettger, Director of Facilities and Technology gave a tour of the
Career and Technical Education buildings to the Committee members.
